During this week’s sci-fi podcast I mentioned that Nike has recently filed a patent for the self-lacing shoes first dreamed up in Back to the Future: Part II. In case there was any question about the validity of my statement, here is the actual patent. I have to assume that if they already have the design for the shoes, they’ll be developed and made available for sale before the year 2015. No word yet on a patent for the self-sizing talking jacket.
