Remember Jason David Frank? No? How about the name Tommy Oliver, that mean anything to you? No? Well I DO remember and IT MEANS EVERYTHING TO ME.

Ahem. Sorry for caps lock yelling.

It’s just that those names are important. They remind us of an always fierce gaze that would put fear into the hearts of the putty patrol, of long locks that flowed as easily as spinning jump kicks, of a commanding voice and presence that tamed a dragon(zord), and of an ability to rock green tights better than anyone I’ve ever seen. My goodness, my green ranger.

Jason David Frank is a martial artist, an actor and probably a doctor-scientist*. He is most famous for portraying Tommy Oliver who was the green/white/red/black ranger on the popular kids show, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He was also super awesome on Sweet Valley High.

Unfortunately, if you’re anything like me, Mr. Frank has been off your radar for quite sometime. Well there’s no need to fear kids. He’s back. In a big way. He’s doing MMA now and he’s doing it and doing it and doing it well. Below is his MMA debut against some guy I assume was molded from clay by Finster himself. I won’t spoil the fight for you, but I will say that the green ranger once fought Goldar without his super suit and still won…so…no big deal.
