For so long, NBA basketball in Chicago has been lacking here in Chicago. Many arguments have been made about which and how many elements NBA basketball has been lacking here in Chicago. I feel that something people have been ignoring in Chicago basketball is the need for a villain.
I was blessed as a child with the Bad Boys in Detroit,
John Starks,
and Karl Malone.
As of tonight, Chicago Bulls basketball has a new villain. His name is Rajon Rondo.
Rondo’s flagrant fouls on Brad Miller in Game 5 and Kirk Hinrich in Game 6 of the ’09 Playoffs have solidified him as a villain in Chicago Bulls basketball. Every time Rondo had the ball in Game 6, after his foul on Hinrich, he was booed vociferously. The best part of Rondo being the new villain is that he’s so young. Chicago can boo him for at least the next 10 years.
Hooray for villains!
