Singing in the shower relieves stress, lowers your heart rate, and is just plain old fun! If you don’t do it already, don’t worry. I will assist you in having the optimal shower-singing experience. I have gone through many an album to create the ultimate top ten list of the best songs to sing in the shower. These are based on many factors including length, sexiness, and level of epic. Also, these can all be sung easily a capella and by both genders. Choose your favorites for this evening or tomorrow morning! You can thank me later:
) Hot ‘N Cold, Katy Perry. The beat is strong and the lyrics are simple. If you really want to commit, you can adjust the water temperature constantly to match the song.
) Jumper, Third Eye Blind. Try it and you’ll understand. The lead singer said that this song is about everyone’s demons and scars, and how there comes a time to just put them away. Mmmm, 90’s classic.
) Think, Aretha Franklin. Because we need a little soul music in this mix. If Aretha can rock this one in a diner, you can do it in the shower. You will start your day thinking, “Yay for ladies.”
) Circle of Life, The Lion King Soundtrack. Forget West Side Story, Chicago, and any other Broadway musical. Les Mis ranked high on the epic scale, but was too complicated for this list. Pretend your body wash is Simba and lift it up to the sky (or ceiling).
) Don’t Stop Believing, Journey. Need I say more?
) Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Franki Valli and the Four Seasons. Imagine that you are singing to the lady or man of your dreams. Use a loofah on a stick as an old timey microphone. It’s okay; if your room mate asks if you were tearing up, you can just say that it’s beads of shower water.
) Let’s Stay Together, Al Green. 70’s Flashback! This one is for when you’re feelin’ a little sexier than usual. Yea, you massage that shampoo in your scalp real good.
) Higher and Higher, Jackie Wilson. This will guarantee that you have a day full of excitement and sunshine. Fun fact: This was featured heavily in Ghostbusters 2. But who would watch Ghostbusters 2 when you can watch the first one? Some people!
) Tiny Dancer, Elton John. Maybe I’m just a sucker for Almost Famous, but this is great for the shower, road trips, you name it. The lyrics are meant to capture the spirit of California ladies back in the day.
) Somebody to Love, Queen. I chose this song over Bohemian Rhapsody because of length and voice parts. Just remember to condition because it’s easy to get carried away. Oh, Freddy Mercury. How I love thee.
