The following post is a response to Marc’s comment on my earlier post on Comic Genius in Sesame Street. Marc made the assumption that Bert and Ernie are gay and I just wanted to clear the air for anyone confused about whether or not Bert and Ernie are Gay.
Friends Forever
They are friends who happen to live together, Marc. Which you and I also happen to be (friends who live together). We just don’t sleep in the same bedroom. But Bert and Ernie lived in New York,

where the cost of living is significantly higher, thus forcing them to sleep in the same bedroom, in separate beds.
How anyone could ever think that two grown men, who are comfortable enough with being gay that they move in together, would NOT be comfortable enough with being gay that they could not purchase and share a large bed, I just don’t get it. I mean, you have to be comfortable enough with being gay just to actually date another man, much less, cohabit with him. What terrible, terrible, repression and feelings of shame that they must have that even in their own bedroom they cannot feel free to be gay. That is just ludicrous.
So by that logic, Bert and Ernie are not gay. They are just good friends that live together, and share a bedroom but not a bed.
