What great ISU memories Octavarius has been sharing over the past couple of days in honor of Redbird Comedy Night. I remember meeting most of these guys when they were 17, 18 years old. Little pups they were. BWo humping anything that moved, Castellvi being loud and obnoxious, Mikula scaring the women away, Marc letting me cheat off his homework, Lauren drunk and following me around at parties saying Hi! Hi! Hi!.. nothing changes, eh?
Some of my favorite memories from ISU don’t involve the people I met, the shows I performed in, or the classes I took.
They involve my old video camera.
When I was a junior, I purchased my first digital video camera, a Sony Digital 8. I loved filming, editing, and showing off ridiculous short films and sketches. When I learned how to incorporate light saber effects into the video, shit got real.
(Forgive me for reposting this on Octavarius, I know I have before.)
My (first) senior year, I planned to make a short movie of epic proportions. The premise: A series of videos showing what life was like at my apartment. The script involved us fighting over who would do the dishes using light sabers. Unfortunately, time constraints caused the film to die shortly after it was thought of. We did manage to get a teaser out though!

Unfortunately, most of my video footage (and pictures of Octavarius as babies – Castellvi, you know which picture I’m specifically referencing – were lost in a computer crash years ago.) I hope this stupid video brings back some memories for you as well!
